Hotel Review: Park Hyatt Aviara Resort, Golf Club & Spa

Our recent family getaway to the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort, Golf Club & Spa was just what we needed – a relaxing three-night escape during our children's Spring Break. We got good value by using 95,000 Hyatt points for the stay as it was valued at over $2000 when we booked. From the moment we pulled up after a long drive, the peaceful vibe and the amazing service made us feel instantly at ease. The resort itself is like a little world of its own, with everything you could want right there, including a waterslide at the pool that was a ton of fun for both the kids and us adults! The only drawback, you can't really walk to other places from the resort, but that actually turned out to be a big plus for our trip because it was super close to Legoland!

Our room was perfect for the four of us – really spacious and nicely done. They definitely thought of all the little things, like 2 comfy King beds and having everything we needed. We spent our days enjoying the resort, and the pool was definitely a highlight. That waterslide kept everyone entertained for hours! If we had one tiny wish for the pool area, it would be that the water could have been a little warmer, especially for the early mornings or later in the day. Still, it didn't stop us from having a blast.

We had some seriously good food while we were there. The sushi at Pacific Point was a major highlight. Seriously fresh fish, and it looked like a work of art! Every roll was bursting with flavor, and we were already planning our next sushi fix before we even left. If you love sushi, you absolutely have to try it.

Then there was Ember & Rye. Everything on the menu looked delicious, but those roasted brussel sprouts? Wow. They were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and had this amazing sweet and savory thing going on. We loved them so much we ordered them twice! It’s those little food surprises that make a meal special.

We also lucked out being there over the weekend because they have this awesome breakfast buffet. So much to choose from, but the pancakes were the real winners. Seriously light and fluffy with a great flavor – the perfect way to start the day. Our kids were all about those pancakes every morning.

The only thing some people might find a bit different is the location. It’s definitely a peaceful, tucked-away spot, so you can’t just wander out for a stroll to shops or other restaurants. You need to drive everywhere. But honestly, for us, that was a small trade-off because of how close it was to Legoland California.

Being such a quick drive to Legoland was a huge win. It made it so easy to have a fun day at the park without a long drive hanging over us. It really makes the Park Hyatt Aviara a fantastic spot if you’re planning a Legoland trip with the family.

All in all, our stay at the Park Hyatt Aviara was wonderful. The incredible food – especially that sushi, those brussel sprouts, and the weekend pancakes – plus the beautiful resort, the fun waterslide, and the great service made it a really memorable vacation. While the pool could have been a touch warmer and you can’t walk to much outside the resort, being so close to Legoland makes it a perfect choice for families with younger kids looking for a bit of luxury and easy access to the park. We left feeling totally relaxed and are already thinking about when we can go back!
